Our Facilities.

Managing waste is a process of balancing the financial, environmental, and social needs of our community.

DCSWA is charged with planning for and managing the safe disposal of household and commercial trash, also called municipal solid waste (or "MSW”), generated in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

As part of this process, DCSWA owns two transfer stations in Delaware County and a landfill in Berks County for permitted haulers to deliver waste.

Additionally, most of the waste collected in Delaware County is either transferred to or directly delivered to Covanta’s waste combustion facility, where it is processed and the energy is exported to the electric grid.
